Steven Shaffner has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, Steven will continue to oversee Talent Management, Employee Services, Learning & Development, Executive Services and Facilities and will now be responsible for Member Service Operations, Loss Mitigation, Asset Recovery and Risk Management.
Since joining Sharonview in 2008, Steven has consistently built strong, high performing teams. As a Branch Manager, he led the Shelby team to become one of the top performing branches in membership and consumer loan generation. In 2014, Steven moved to the Vice President of Retail Delivery role, with oversight of the branch network.
In 2017, he moved to the Vice President of Talent Management role, and in September of 2019, Steven was promoted to Senior Vice President of People Strategy and has continued to position Sharonview as an employer of choice, helping us through all the difficulties of the pandemic.
Originally from Galax, Virginia, Steven earned his Bachelor of Science degree in the Interdisciplinary Studies of Professional Communications from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned his master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University’s School of Business in 2020.
